3 Steps To Completely Clean The Bathtub

Since you now have equipment ready, here are 3 steps to follow systemically. Certainly, by using these 3 simple steps, you will not miss out any parts of the bathtub washing procedure.

Step One: Wipe Down The Components Of Your Bathtub, Including The Drain!

To begin with, start by wiping down the faucets, taps, hoses, just like how you have cleaned the shower head and components (see above). Do not neglect these! Remember to clean out the drain too (refer to the section on cleaning the toilet drain).

Step Two: Use Dish Soap or Detergent Over Your Entire BathTub

Now, you can start by wiping down the entire bathtub, from the most external to the most internal portion. MEIDE recommends wiping it radially towards the drain outlet. Additionally, if you have a specialized bathtub cleaning detergent, use it. Otherwise, simply use any multi-purpose detergent or dish soap, diluted in a bucket of water. Start by soaking up the foam with a wet large sponge. For your convenience, use one with a handle for easier manipulation. Cover the entire bathtub with this soapy detergent. Then, leave it to sit for ten to twenty minutes. This helps to degrease the bathtub. Rinse the soap all away.

Step Three: Remove Stubborn Stains From Your Bathtub

Thirdly, to remove mold and stubborn stains, repeat the process with diluted vinegar or bleach. (Do not mix both, ever!) Furthermore, for added effectiveness, if you have covered the bathtub with vinegar, you could sprinkle baking soda powder over areas for an “explosive” cleaning mechanism. Once again, scrub down the entire bathtub, and then rinse it all away with clean water. Your tub should be as shiny as fine porcelain now!

Fastest Way To Clean The Bathtub Effectively

  1. Prepare 2 Buckets Of Solutions

Prepare a large bucket of water and soak a large sponge in it. You can add multi-purpose detergent (follow packaging details) or dish soap (~15ml for each litre).
Prepare a second smaller bucket (with same mixture as above) to soak the bathtub components in later on.

  2. Wipe Down The Entire Bathtub

Use the large sponge, or preferably a wiper with handle for efficiency. Cover the entire bathtub with soap detergent. Let it sit for about 20 minutes to degrease it.

  3. Clean The Bathtub Components

Meanwhile, save your time by removing the faucets, taps, hoses, and clean it just like how you cleaned the shower head. Scrub and wipe them with brushes and rags. Place them into the smaller bucket prepared.

  4. Rinse and Replace Parts

Once you have completed washing all parts, rinse them with clean water using your small bucket again. Reinstall the parts to the bathtub.

  5. Rinse Entire Bathtub

When your 20 minutes is up, rinse the entire bathtub again with clean water. You can use a hose or shower head for this.

  6. Use Bleach Or Vinegar For Stubborn Stains

To remove mold and stubborn stains, repeat the process with diluted vinegar or bleach. (Do not mix both, ever!) For added effectiveness, if you have covered the bathtub with vinegar, you could sprinkle baking soda powder over areas for an “explosive” cleaning mechanism. Once again, scrub down the entire bathtub, and then rinse it all away with clean water. Your tub should be as shiny as fine porcelain now!
